Let’s Go To The Movies

Today we are going to the movies.  It doesn't matter if you are sneaking snacks in or you are buying some at the counter. Set yourself in the mood to see what genre you want to see.

First, ask yourself what type of movie you want to watch; Action, Horror, Drama, Romance, Science Fiction, Comedy, Thriller, etc.

Now that you have decided on the genre, instead of previews of upcoming movies.  Allow previous memories from your mind to come to the forefront.  Think about how they made you feel either good or bad, or in between.  Don't be surprised if it sets the mood for the genre of the movie you picked.

Once you have decided on the genre, go directly to that style of movie and read the description.  After that, skip to the conclusion of the blog.

ACTION  films thrust you into a series of events that include physical activities that may or may not include violence, fighting, and an adrenaline rush.  If you chose this type of film you have a sense of adventure and you probably had situations where it was difficult and the results brought about some changes.  If you are unbalanced, there could be physical pain and or loss in transition.  If you are balanced there is an inert desire to steady growth in many areas as you accept challenges that come your way.  Just remember not to burn yourself out and enjoy the moment.

HORROR genre supposedly designed to create fear, terror, and or dread.  Are you living in fear and or disgust? This influence can be internal or external.  Regardless of the source, the purpose is to keep you limited and doubtful.  One way to overcome this is to remind yourself to do something different.  Take a small risk/ change of action to see if there is a different outcome.  If there is no different external response, you will notice the internal change.  If you watch horror and you notice no fear, you are in a place where you notice the limitations but the limitations do not have you.  Keep up the good work.

DRAMA movies are defined as more serious than humorous.  Drama can show in the forms of political, legal, historical, teen, police,  soap opera, etc.  Is your life full of drama?  Some people who like and thrive off of drama have made an addictive passion.  Other people are put into positions where life puts you in a position where you have developed strength because you are carrying more than your share.  If this is you, take time out for yourself to love and care for yourself.

ROMANCE class is all about the ideal love story. This genre will have you caught up in ideals, thus losing track of time and yourself.  If love is weak and unbalanced, there will be a sense of neglect.  To love yourself is the first and foremost ultimate goal in a healthy relationship.  If you don't know how to find out, I recommend the five love languages.

SCIENCE FICTION films are films that can take you beyond the present into the future.  If overactive, you lose your imagination and you generally do not finish goals.  If underdeveloped, you will find yourself very rigid and only thinking within the box.  If you balance both the practical and imagination you will shine like the star you are by setting goals and accomplishing them.  Even in an environment where you have to do things in the box, the way you fulfill the obligations will amaze many people and possibly yourself.

COMEDY can be food for the soul.  Life can be a series of both ups and downs.  Learning how to at least smile in the dark will give you a sense of comfort. You will remember that you have been through a lot, and the current situation will be conquered by you as well.  Life is worth living.

CONCLUSION There are several more genres. Ultimately the life or movie we chose to watch encompasses more than just one.  The thing to remember is not the type of genre, but to see ourselves in the dark watching the movie and not forgetting who we are.  If you don't know who you are, go back to the previews of your younger years.  Remember the small but great joys.  Or you look at current actions and triggers that give you your peace and joy.  From there continue to build upon it. The greatest show is the one you're watching yourself.  If it seems like a zoo, become the ring leader and begin to delegate and structure the animals in your arena called life.   At the end of it all, remember it's an illusion.
