What is Love?

LOVE defined:

*An intense feeling of deep affection

*Great interest and pleasure

When looking at the word love, the general perception is a feeling of warmth and comfort. Usually, displays of love are in the form of a card, gift, words of affirmation, etc. To say this conception is complete is sadly mistaken. Love is considered one of the most powerful and purest words. In some cultures, it is symbolic of God.

When you look closely, it transcends the good euphoric feeling of blissfulness. Love is an action word more than a noun or adjective. The reason being is because love supersedes the inconsistency of the waves of emotions. Even in the Bible, "God so loved the world that he gave his son." You also hear of parents giving past normal limits to provide for the love of their children regardless of feelings.

So when we revisit love, we have to look past the fairy tale aspect and look into how it moves individuals to go beyond themselves to express love on multiple levels.

If we limit love to only emotions, people tend to lose themselves because of incomplete power expressing love. Expressing love is not about giving primarily but should be focused on how it is received. Knowing this, one needs to know how to love oneself.

Love is complicated on multiple levels, but it is also genuine and simplistic similar to flowing water. So let love flow, but guard your heart all the while.
